This dog of a ballgame started with us scanning our tickets and my phone went off. It wasn't my mother calling to see how we were or some work email... No, it was my MLB At Bat app letting me know the Athletics had just scored and they were leading the Rangers 5-0 after a stupid Brett Lawrie grand slam - and we weren't five steps in the park yet. We took a hard right turn at the third base entrance and decided to get some food. This was definitely going to one of those long nights at the ball park. I had chicken fingers and beer and Dema had tacos. Jaxon got to hang out with Nolan for a bit. An exceptionally hot and humid night, we ended up leaving and getting a head start on baby's bedtime when it became pretty clear the Rangers weren't going to mount much resistance in this one. A close play at second in the bottom of the 5th was controversial in that replay showed that Roughned Odor was kinda, maybe, probably safe and yet was called out anyway - this just added to the feeling that tonight wasn't going for the Rangers and any momentum for the home team was going to be just as dead as the breeze up in the stands.
